IMASA will expand a cement plant in Ecuador for $150 million

The consortium led by IMASA, Engineering and Projects, S.A has been awarded the expansion of a cement plant in the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo Province, Republic of Ecuador for an amount of 150 million dollars

The turnkey contract was awarded by the Society of Mixed Economy "National Cement Union, UCEM CEM" and includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a new Clinker line in the plant of Riobamba .  

The facility under contract will have a production capacity of 2,600 tons of clinker per day, high quality and high reliability, that will supply the cement grinding plants, in order to strengthen the Ecuadorian cement industry and reflect an increase in the capacity production and sale.  

With this project IMASA strengthens its working experience in cement plants and its presence in South America, continuing its planning of internationalization, with presence in 14 countries developing several projects in various sectors. In this regard, IMASA has over 25 years’ experience in the cement sector, and currently it is also developing the construction of the largest cement plant in Bolivia
